Quick checklist

Most connection problems are solved by one of these. Try them in order:

  1. Update TYTAN VPN to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Pick a different location from the server list, or turn on Auto-Connect to use the fastest server.
  3. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
  4. Turn off any other VPN, proxy or ad-blocking app.
  5. Make sure your phone sets the date and time automatically.

If Connect does nothing or keeps spinning

When you tap Connect, TYTAN tries the server you chose first and then its backup servers automatically. If none of them answer, the server you picked is usually not reachable from your network at that moment.

  1. Choose another location from the server list and tap Connect again.
  2. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or try another Wi-Fi network.
  3. Check that the date and time on your phone are set automatically. Secure connections fail when the clock is wrong.
  4. The first time you connect, iPhone and Android ask for permission to add a VPN configuration. If you tapped Don't Allow, tap Connect again and allow it. On iPhone you can check it under Settings → General → VPN & Device Management.

If it says Connected but there is no internet

The VPN tunnel is up, but your traffic is not getting through. Usually the server is unreachable from your network right now, or a setting on the phone is overriding the connection.

  1. Disconnect, choose another location and connect again.
  2. On Android, open Settings and search for Private DNS. Set it to Automatic or Off.
  3. Turn airplane mode on for a few seconds, then off again.
  4. Close any other VPN app completely; two VPNs cannot run at the same time.
  5. If you use Kill Switch or Android's Block connections without VPN, the phone deliberately has no internet while the VPN reconnects. Wait a few seconds, or turn it off while you test.

If it connects and then keeps dropping

  • Moving between Wi-Fi and mobile data restarts the connection. That is expected.
  • Battery saving can stop the VPN in the background. On Android, open Settings → Apps → TYTAN VPN → Battery and choose Unrestricted.
  • A location closer to you is usually more stable than a distant one.

Still not working?

Write to us from the Support section of the app or at info@tytanov.com. Tell us your country, your mobile operator or internet provider, the server location you tried and your app version. It helps us see which servers are unreachable from your network.

Answers to other common questions are in the TYTAN VPN FAQ.

Make private access the default

TYTAN keeps setup simple and chooses a suitable route in the background.
